Kids love picking up a Kinder Surprise from the store. And who could say no to a surprise toy wrapped in chocolate?
When Kinder Surprise Eggs began to be manufactured by Italian company Ferrero, kinder eggs were made illegal in the USA due to small toy parts which could be a choking hazard. In fact, the U.S law against the chocolate egg actually dates back to 1938.
Additionally, there have been reports of people who were detained for being in possession of the candy at the U.S. border.
Knowing the fact that most of food colors used in the U.S. products are banned in Italy. The question arises as to whether the ban really meant to protect children from swallowing the plastic toys or to maintain the interests of the large chocolate companies in the United States!
In any case the product is safe, despite the fact that it contains hydrogenated fats which may be unhealthy for children. In addition to that it contains soy which is bad for those who suffer from soy allergies.
