Shakes aren’t always the best option
Yes, we all have heard that they provide valuable nutrients and they can support in weight loss too, but the fact is that they can pose great health risks which many of the users are unaware of. Keep in mind, whether it is a nutritional shake or protein shake, because not all of them are equal.
Research says that not all of the shakes are great. People buy them thinking they are natural but they contain plenty of ingredients which are processed. As a result, you are eventually drinking non-healthy stuff which will never lead you to the results you are looking for.
The idea is that nutrition in a bottle is not the same as nutrition in food. Even if you are drinking a fortified nutritional shake, it still will not contain the nutrients that whole food contains. You can always substitute one meal with a drink but if you are consuming drinks throughout the day, you are risking calories. It will not just lead to obesity but high blood pressure and in severe cases diabetes too.
What is the alternative?
If you really want to drink a nutritional drink, you can opt for the fruit smoothies that contain less sugar and processed ingredients. To stay at the safe side, examine the ingredients. Check the protein level, sugar and calories. Experts suggest that instead of replacing one whole meal with nutritional shakes or drinks, it is ideal to replace them with snacks. You will feel fuller and even if you have sugar cravings, you will eventually satisfy them.
