Bulgur is easy to prepare and a nice change from rice and pasta. It adds healthy nutrients to main-course meals. Here is a bulgur with mushroom plant-based recipe.
1 cup soaked bulgur .
1 boiled, mashed potato .
Black pepper and salt to taste .
1 cup fresh chopped mushroom .
½ large chopped onion.
1 tablespoon tomato sauce .
Black pepper, basil dried, sumac and salt .
Soak bulgur until tender and the water is absorbed.
Boil and mash the potatoes.
Mix together bulgur, potato, black pepper and salt, blending into a thick paste.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, put in the onion and stir until the onion wilts.
Add the chopped mushrooms and cook until they begin to color.
Then add tomato sauce, black pepper, basil dried, sumac and salt. Add more water and stir until the sauce dissolves. Wait for about 5-10 minutes.
Place the bulgur mixture into layers on the baking tray or Pyrex dish. Then spread out the mushroom sauce in another layer. Repeat with the remaining bulgur and mushroom sauce mixture.
Heat the oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees and bake the tray.
